The Cervical Cancer Awareness Day
Cervical cancer screening is a free health test available on the NHS. The cervix is the opening between the vagina and the womb (uterus) and is part of the female reproductive system. The national screening programme can help prevent cancer of the cervix by checking for a virus called high-risk HPV.
Brent’s rich tapestry of cultures makes it a beautiful place to live, but this diversity also means that not everyone has equal access to crucial health information. That’s why we’re stepping up to bridge the gap. This event is part of a community movement to empower women and the whole community with knowledge and support for early detection of cervical cancer.
Why should you attend?
- Understand the importance of Cervical screening.
- Listen to inspiring talks from experts who’ll demystify cervical screening and other health topics.
- Discover local health services and resources that you might not know exist.
Remember, when cancer is spotted at an early stage, treatment is more likely to be successful. Thanks to research, treatments are kinder and more effective than ever.
We’re partnering with the Public Health team and other health professionals to bring you a day filled with hope, support, and action. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to take control of your health, learn about the support available, and help us eradicate the stigma surrounding cervical cancer screening.
Your presence matters. Your health matters. See you there!
